2 Quick Actions for the Climate

The Illinois legislature recently failed to pass a much-needed, much-negotiated, and broadly agreed-upon comprehensive climate and equity bill.

It is not too late! We can still pass bold, equity-centered legislation that puts Illinois on a path to a 100% clean energy future while providing a just transition for workers and communities historically dependent on dirty fossil fuels, enacting some of the toughest utility accountability measures in the nation, and creating jobs and wealth in Illinois’ communities of color. But legislators need to hear from you.

Please take two quick actions to help move this bill forward.

ACTION 1: Take two minutes to tell your legislators to pass a real climate bill. Please click on this link for super easy send-a-note-to-your-legislators!
Thank you!!!

ACTION 2: Please forward to any other IL residents!
Thank you!!!

Support SE Side in fight for environmental justice

Residents of the Southeast Side of Chicago are fighting to block General Iron’s permit to establish a recycling facility in their community, a community that has been burdened for years with industrial polluters. Check out many ways to support their efforts.

The Southeast Side was one of the communities that participated, with the South Loop, in the Shared Air/Shared Action project. It is a largely Black and Latino community that has some wonderful natural resources, but for decades has been plagued by pollution, including from petcoke and manganese. Community members are tired of being a dumping ground, and we support their efforts to fight for more review and regulation.
