Explore our past projects below. All of these projects were conceived, designed, planned, and run by volunteers within our community, working with community partners. Have an idea for something you’d like to see happen in the South Loop? Email us! [email protected]
The South Loop was one of four Chicago communities partnering on an EPA-funded research project, to learn how well residents could use small, inexpensive air monitors, and how well the monitors worked. We learned a lot about our neighboring communities that deal with environmental justice issues. Click here to learn more about this project.
To promote walking-to-shop in the community, we partnered with Gordon’s South Loop Ace hardware to offer discounts on shopping carts, and featured a “pop up” walk-to-shop-together event. Click here for more details.
Clean and Green
Over the years, the Alliance has partnered with ward offices to support volunteer crews in annual clean and green events. Click here for more details.
